Meditation & Education

Scientists are discovering that meditation can significantly improve a person’s physical and mental health. In seeking a more permanent and satisfactory solution to the physical and mental problems, many people (including doctors and psychologists) have now turned towards meditation and have got impressive results. On the occasion of World Holy Name week from 9th to 17th September, 2017, International Society of Krishna Consciousness conducted a three day seminar, emphasizing on the importance of meditation and its positive impact on the academic performance of the children. A total of 197 girls from grade 6th, 7th and 8th from Sandipani Muni School attended the seminar and learned how important it is to meditate and that they can academically improve their performance through meditation. The girls have already started practicing what they learnt and are experiencing a gradual change in themselves and in their studies.

The Most Expensive Meal of My Life: Daleep, UK

I went to Vrindavan, India, being of Indian origin, but never having lived in India. I live a comfortable life materially in the U.K. but, I truly wanted to be moved. The inner thirst that needed to be quenched that no amount of pounds or dollars in the UK could. I was then, told about the “Food for Life Vrindavan” a project headed by Rupa Raghunath Das.     I arrived in Vrindavan. Rupa had incorporated a school that educates young girls from the shanty towns of Vrindavan. The morning assembly had the hairs on the back of my neck stand with true appreciation of the love given to the young girls. Mr. Shailja Kant Mishra: A living inspiration

On the 26th of September, 2017, FFLV had the honor of a visit from the Vice President of Braja Tirtha Development Board, Mr Shailja Kant Mishra. Mr Mishra is a 1977 IPS officer from Mathura who was popularly known as a “Supercop” in the media during his work tenure and is known as an honest man, very committed to whatever he puts his head and heart in. Currently he is the representative and incharge of the government’s project for beautifying Vrindavan, Govardhan and Barsana areas of Vraja. During his visit at FFLV, Mr Mishra addressed the school girls from the senior section. He shared with the girls his success mantras and told several inspirational stories and real happenings from his own life.
