90% of the girls enrolled in our school come from rural areas located a few kilometers away from our school, areas which are reachable via remote unpaved roads . This makes it unsafe for the girls to travel alone considering the high crime rate in India, especially the rural areas. Travelling alone can increase their chances of getting raped or kidnapped. The parents also feel uncomfortable to send their girls to school from a safety point of view. Moreover, the expenses involved to book a transportation on their own to send the girls to school can be expensive. Thus, providing transportation to these girls not only ensures their safety, but also minimizes chances of absenteeism and a reduced drop-out rate to a great extent.
