Girls’ Fund distribution to the students of 2016 batch

Since the past few years, FFLV has provided to the students who have completed their bachelor’s graduation a monetary cheque, known as the Girl’s Fund Cheque of a substantial amount. The Girl’s Fund was established as an antidote to Early Marriage and as an incentive to encourage the students to continue their education as many schoolgirls were getting married at an extremely young age due to the dowry system here in India and consequently, the idea of Girls’ Fund came.
The idea was conceived to allow our girls to pursue higher education as well as getting an amount as a scholarship or an incentive that they can use further as the need arises. The sponsors listened to our appeal to donate some extra dollars every month while the parents were trusting our promise of help. It worked out!!
This time was the turn of a new batch of Sandipani Muni School former students who finished 12th grade in 2016 to receive the Girl’s Fund Cheque. It was an emotion to see those same girls that were with us for so many years: studying in kindergarten, participating in dance, singing, and various stage programs have now overcome the hurdles, grown-ups as independent girls ready to face the world.
Amongst the students who benefited from the Girl’s Fund Cheque, few of them have recently married, one is a mother, some are pursuing a Master’s degree and most of them already working in different companies and schools. Special thanks to their sponsors and to all those who have made this possible. We are looking forward to providing this special fund to more students of the next batch in the upcoming years.
