Gita Jayanti Celebrations

Gita Jayanti Celebrations

Gita Jayanti is the auspicious day of the advent of Srimad Bhagavad-gita. This is the day on which Lord Krishna imparted the essence of Vedic knowledge to Arjuna over 5000 years ago and enlightened him about the ultimate goal of life. As stated in the Gita-mahatmya, if one properly follows the instructions of Bhagavad-gita, one can be freed from all miseries and anxieties in this life, and one’s next life will be spiritual. Bhagavad-gita literally means the song of the Supreme Lord. It is the most widely known Vedic literature in the world.

This year, Gita Jayanti was celebrated on 19th December all over the world, and we at Sandipani Muni School celebrated it with our girls. On this occasion, we invited A Prabhupada Disciple- Her Grace Janaki Devi Dasi and Mrinalini Radhika Dasi, who explained the essence of Bhagwad Gita to our students. Her Grace Janaki Devi explained about JPKKI – Jiva, Prakriti, Karma, Kala, Ishwara and the girls learnt the teachings with great enthusiasm. On this day, the senior girls of SMS also recited a few important verses from the literature and performed a play on devotion to Lord Krishna. Our guests of honour also donated a few Bhagwad Gita books to the school.
We thank them for visiting our school and hope that we are able to imbibe these teachings in our day to day lives.
