On Saturday the 16th of March, Sandipani Muni Intercollege 11th Grade Classes were invited to attend a Theatrical performance based on the Mahabharata (Titled “The Queen’s secret”) at the ISKCON Auditorium in Noida. A Ninety minute performance based on the history of Queen Kunti, the play was interpreted in a contemporary way while maintaining the original storyline. Our students who were familiar with the script truly enjoyed the performance and expressed their appreciation during and at the end of it. The students had the opportunity to spend some time with the actresses and actors and they were served a full meal prior to their return to Vrindavan.
Bhagwad Gita course was conducted at SMS recently. The course consisted of learning verses of Bhagavad Gita with meaning, reading and singing the Bhagavad Gita and Bhagavatam stories. At the end of the course, a test was conducted which consisted of 20 multiple choice questions. The SMS students performed very well. All the students who did the test with minimum full attendance were issued certificates which were given on stage on Saturday the 16th of February after the School Assembly: Iskcon Vrindavan President Pancha Gauda das and Iskcon Vrindavan Youth Forum Coordinator Sureswara das(who conducted the Bhagavad Gita course for our students) were on stage to award the certificates.
“Music is the language of the spirit. It opens the secret of life bringing peace, abolishing strife”. The first edition of the Bhakti Fest Kirtan took place on the 3rd of February in the afternoon from 4 pm to 8.30pm. Kirtan is a form of devotional musical performance (which glorifies the name of Krsna through a Mantra) that elicits a response from the crowd, in a call and response way: we invited several stalwart practitioners of this devotional art form, such as The Kirtaneers from the U.S.,Vaisaki das and Jahnavi Harrison from the UK. Many of our girls attended the event and actively participated with enthusiasm by singing and dancing. The event was well attended and successful enough for FFLV to consider another one to take place later this year or in 2020. Sharing with you some of the moments captured during the fest:
