Nothing Happens By Chance!

Born and raised in Argentina, I was working as a Systems Engineer. I started studying Yoga in 2012 and in 2014, I decided and told myself ‘My next big trip is to India’. It took me a while and started my journey to India in January 2017. Before coming to India, I had only read about the country, about the social status of women here, about the culture and about the people here. But no matter how much you read about it, India never fails to surprise you. FFLV Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan

Heaps of solid waste dumped around street corners…garbage bins kept at various points..neither emptied nor cleaned…& trash being burnt in open – causing pollution. There is no check on the garbage being strewn or consigned to flames releasing highly toxic pollutants in the air. This plastic pollution has been causing a great harm to the environment and animals specially the cows. Cows consume plastic along with the food they find in trash piles and being unable to digest it die in the streets. Disposing the garbage carelessly in drains and on the banks of Yamuna river has led to the clogging and stagnation resulting in waterborne diseases. Say No to Polythene

In an effort to create awareness among school students and general public about plastic pollution, Food for Life Vrindavan school girls formed a human chain on the Parikrama Marg in Vrindavan along with the students from many other schools of Vrindavan. The plastic pollution has been causing a great harm to the environment and animals specially the cows. During this event, an awareness group from Braj Act Now performed a play to create awareness about the harmful effects of plastic. Our school girls also distributed fliers highlighting the disadvantages of plastic. The event was coordinated and headed by the principals of FFLV. Here are a few photographs from the event:
