Ration Distribution

2020 Coronavirus Emergency Ration Distribution

Help stop the Virus of Hunger

Since the coronavirus outbreak and lockdown in India, the sources of income for the daily wage workers have been interrupted, affecting their basic living in a major way. Therefore, there are no sources, there is no earning and then no money to buy food. Most of the underprivileged families in Vrindavan are having very few meals, either by using their very little savings or by borrowing money.

FFLV has come up with an initiative to support families with extreme financial difficulties during this crisis. During the first phase of MONTHLY RATION DISTRIBUTION which started in April, FFLV has distributed more than 40,000 kilograms of wheat flour/rice, 4,000 kilograms of pulses, 4,000 liters of cooking oil, 800 kilograms of soya chunks, 2,000 kilograms of salt, 3,000 kilograms of sugar to around 2,000 families.

Among 2,000 families, recipients of this wonderful support system are the numerous families of our 1,500 Sandipani Muni Schoolgirls, 300 families living below the poverty line in slums, and hundreds of daily workers, widows, and sadhus. Many more are still on our waiting list…

As the lockdown period has been extended and still there is no work opportunity for daily wage workers, we are constantly receiving requests for providing ration for another month. The second phase of distribution has started, and again we count on your generosity and kindness to extend the rations for another month.

We want to express a huge thanks to all the donors for being so generous and supporting these needy families in the time of need.

Any act of kindness, no matter how small, it’s magic and carries goodwill with it. A small contribution of just $25 / £20 per ration will be greatly appreciated, please donate now 🙏
