London, FFLV UK held a fundraising dinner in order to enroll more girls into our schools. The event was held at the prestigious Stockley Park Pavillion, and was a sell out success with many disappointed that they could not get tickets.

The evening was inspired by the ongoing campaign – #SheMustCount – which was launched by FFLV last year with a series of specially commissioned films highlighting the tremendous work of our charity .

In attendance was Bollywood superstar and Philanthropist Vivek Oberoi who extended his stay in London so he could fully support the event and UK Film & TV Actor Nitin Ganatra who took a break from Filming to attend. Both spoke highly of their personal support of the charity and urged the audience to pledge in becoming a sponsor.

Nitin Ganatra made a very salient point when he stated that it is not just the women that need empowering but also the men -whose attitudes to women must be encouraged to change .

A host of talented artists entertained throughout the evening including acclaimed Bhangra & Bollywood star Shin DCS , Kathak dancer Janaki Mehta , The Jay Kumar Dance Ensemble, itunes topping artist Kal-Key and Music from  Flute That Groove. The hire of the venue was generously donated by its owner Mr.Manoj Panchmatia with a full 3 course Jain Vegatartian dinner provided by Red Cube events.

Rupa Raghunath Das, Founder of FFLV, gave the keynote speech, reporting on the progress and achievements of the charity to date and highlighting the very personal nature of his inspiration to begin the charity. He was joined By Dr.Priya Virmani and Lord Jitesh Gadhia who both spoke favorably of the charities mission and work .

The evening was interspersed by showing each of the #SheMustCount films with a firm call to action to join the charity in its mission by becoming a sponsor. The films inspired the guests so much that over 80 guests pledged to sponsor a girl at FFLV ! These girls will start school in the coming weeks! Over 80 families have had their lives transformed forever. So a very BIG Thank You to all who made the evening possible and off course those who attended in support of our work.
