“For my first trip to India, I was sure that I wanted to do service and felt like Vrindavan would be the perfect place to do so. The month I spent volunteering at Food for Life was one of the most rewarding experiences I have ever had.
My weeks were filled with joy, love, appreciation, and a lot of selfies with the girls. I am so grateful to have had the chance to come to the Sandipani Muni School and get to interact with such amazing teachers and students and to see what FFLV is really about. I spent some time in the kindergarten hugging and high fiving tons of the little ones and doing “Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes” approximately a hundred and seventy times a day. The smiles they had transcended the language barrier and I always looked forward to going to school and getting tackled with hugs from all of them.
The rest of my weeks were spent teaching English to the 9th and 11th year girls. I built relationships with these girls and am proud to call them all my friends. In leaving Vrindavan, I will take with me all of the memories of dancing and laughing with these wonderful students and I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to meet all of them. I will remember their passion, joy, and smiles forever”. – Katherine Magee, Volunteer, USA
